The weekend of October 2, Legendary Bowhunter Roy Roth, passed away in an accident on Pioneer Peak in Alaska. The peak, reaching 6,398 feet, is located in the Knik River Valley near Goat Creek. Roth was hunting sheep when he fell down the mountainside. Roth was the owner of the fishing and hunting service called Roy Roth’s Alaskan Adventures.
Our hearts go out to the friends and family of Roth, and in honor of his memory, we would like to share some of the highlights of his life:
- In April 2015, the Rich Outdoors podcast interviewed Roy Roth in an episode titled “Roy Roth: Hunting Alaska, DIY Sitka Deer Hunting, and Alaskan Brown Bear”, embedded below:
- He is featured on Crossheart Outfitters “Extreme Hunters” page in honor of his achievements as a hunter.
- Cameron Hanes, a longtime friend of Roth’s, posted a video on his YouTube channel with some words of wisdom from Roy Roth.
If you would like to help out, the Roy Roth Legacy Fund is a donation fund set up for the family as they recover from their loss. We send our prayers to them in this difficult time.
