More than 175 million Americans are anticipated to partake in this year’s Halloween festivities. They’ll don creative costumes, go trick-or-treating and, of course, carve pumpkins. Work Sharp Outdoor, a leading manufacturer of knife and tool sharpeners, is participating in the holiday by encouraging everyone to carve safely, which begins with using a sharp knife. Leading up to Halloween, Work Sharp will host a social media contest designed to engage blade owners of all ages. Individuals planning to carve a pumpkin are encouraged to post a photo of their completed pumpkin on Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win a Benchmade Mini Reflex II and a Work Sharp Pocket Knife Sharpener, which was released in June 2018.

“We’re a family-owned company,” said Kyle Crawford, Work Sharp’s brand manager. “For many families, Halloween is a time to come together and express their creativity. It’s also a great time for parents to educate their children on the importance of knife safety, which begins with having a sharp knife. Our hope is to help facilitate that conversation, and transfer those practices to the outdoor activities we know and love: hunting, fishing, camping and more.”

To enter the giveaway, individuals should:

The contest ends Oct. 31, at 11:59 p.m. PST. The winner will be announced by noon PST on Nov. 1.
