The annual Spring PA 3D Challenge at Camp Mack has become a staple for archers looking to kick off the season with a high-energy, competitive shoot. Set for April 18–19, 2026, this long-running event continues to draw strong participation from bowhunters and target shooters alike, offering a challenging course and a true-to-form 3D archery experience.

Hosted by local clubs and built around realistic hunting scenarios, the event features an extensive course of 3D animal targets spread across multiple ranges. Shooters can expect varied terrain, changing shot angles, and unknown distances—key elements that define 3D archery and make it such a valuable off-season and pre-season tool for bowhunters.

What sets this event apart in 2026 is the added backing from BIGshot Targets, which is helping elevate both the scale and appeal of the shoot. With over $10,000 in prizes being given away, the Spring PA 3D Challenge offers serious incentive alongside its already strong reputation. Prize support at this level not only attracts experienced shooters, but also helps grow participation across all skill levels.

The event also aligns with the style and structure familiar to shooters involved in ASA Archery competition. Known for its emphasis on realistic scoring zones and competitive formats, ASA-style shooting continues to influence local and regional 3D events like this one, making it a great opportunity for archers to sharpen skills in a similar environment.

Beyond the competition, the Spring PA 3D Challenge maintains a strong community element. Events like this bring together clubs, brands, and shooters in a setting that blends competition with camaraderie. It’s not just about scores—it’s about preparing for the season, testing gear, and connecting with others in the sport.

For archers looking to get reps in before the season heats up, Camp Mack delivers a well-rounded event with the added bonus of major prize support and industry backing.

April 15, 2026 – With the 2026 launch of NASP® 3D, the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®) is proud to announce a new national title—the NASP® Grand Champion Award. This premier title will recognize one male and one female archer who demonstrate the highest level of excellence across the full NASP® experience. Grand Champions will be determined by a combined total of four scores: Bullseye and NASP® 3D results from a national tournament (Eastern or Western Nationals), plus Bullseye and NASP® 3D scores from the NASP® Championship. In the event of a tie from these four scores, a tie breaker will occur just prior to awards at the NASP® Championship Tournament.

The Grand Champion Award will be presented during the final award ceremony at the NASP® Championship.

NASP® Western National Tournament, Sandy, UT 4/23-2026-4/25-2026

NASP® Eastern National Tournament, Louisville, KY 5/7/2026-5/9/2026

	NASP® Championship, Daytona, FL, 6/18/2026-6/20/2026

Unlike traditional awards given within divisions, the Grand Champion title will be awarded across all divisions, meaning only one male and one female archer will earn this honor—regardless of grade level.

For years, NASP® has remained committed to its mission and structure. In the early days of expansion beyond Kentucky, program leadership made a deliberate decision to stay focused on its foundation—bullseye archery. As interest grew and opportunities expanded, that discipline remained the anchor that ensured quality, safety, and scalability nationwide.

NASP® President Tommy Floyd said, “Now, for the first time, we can recognize what it truly means to be the best across our entire program. The Grand Champion isn’t decided in a single moment—it requires repeated excellence, across four scores, on the biggest stages we offer. This isn’t about one great day – it’s about proving you can perform at the highest level again and again.”

With the full implementation of NASP® 3D, the Grand Champion Award becomes the first national title to fully reflect that unity.

“The Grand Champion award represents the very best of NASP®,” Floyd added. “It recognizes the two students—one male and one female—who achieve greatness across both disciplines. That’s something truly special.”

In addition to receiving a one-of-a-kind trophy, Grand Champions will be permanently recognized with their names added to a commemorative display at the Archery Hall of Fame and Museum in Springfield Missouri, and the names of both archers will appear there in the perpetual plaque for all AHOF visitors to see!

From this point forward, this criterion will be used to determine each year’s Grand Champion archers.

For archers, repetition and consistency are everything. From fine-tuning broadhead flight to building confidence before the season, every shot matters. But one overlooked factor in productive practice is how securely a target face is mounted. When targets shift, tear, or fall off entirely, it interrupts rhythm and wastes valuable time. TargetTack solves that problem with a simple, effective system designed to outperform traditional methods.

Instead of relying on staples, tape, or adhesives, TargetTack uses a reusable fastening design that quickly secures target faces to a wide variety of backstops. Foam blocks, bag targets, and layered materials are all fair game, making it an easy fit for backyard ranges, pro shops, and club setups. For archers who rotate between different targets or frequently change faces, this flexibility is a major advantage.

What sets TargetTack apart is how well it holds under real shooting conditions. Once in place, it keeps target corners flat and secure, even after repeated arrow impacts. That stability helps maintain clear aiming points and reduces the frustration of constantly readjusting or replacing torn targets. Just as important, the system removes cleanly, allowing archers to reposition or swap targets without damaging the surface underneath.

There’s also a practical, long-term benefit. Because TargetTack is reusable, it cuts down on the waste and recurring cost associated with disposable mounting options. For high-volume shooters and ranges, that adds up quickly over time.

While it’s an obvious upgrade for archers, TargetTack has appeal beyond the bow. Firearms shooters, instructors, and training facilities can benefit from the same fast setup and reliable hold across paper targets of all sizes.

In a category that hasn’t seen much innovation, TargetTack stands out by addressing a common frustration with a straightforward, durable solution that simply works.

Since its founding in 2004, Last Chance Archery has been a company driven by innovation, fair, affordable pricing, and customer satisfaction.

LCA’s Mission Statement

“We are a faith-based, family-owned, and operated manufacturing business passionate about innovation. We will deliver world-class customer service and manufacture high-quality, fairly priced, innovative products for the outdoor community.”

Founded by Leon Pittman, an Air Force Veteran, Last Chance Archery is now partially owned by his daughter, Wendy Clark, whose husband, Chris, and their children, Cody, Justin, Jonathan, Evan, Grace, and Elijah, all work side by side in the business.

The company has seen consistent annual growth since the early years, when the only product was a bow press. Which happens to be the industry’s only patented bow press. The key to LCA’s bow press technology is how the press compresses with limb tip fingers, so that when you’re pressing the bow, it presses exactly as if the bow is being drawn back, avoiding additional stress on the limbs or the riser. LCA holds the only limb tip compression patents for bow presses, period. Today, LCA manufactures 15 unique versions of a bow press, 60+ bow press accessory attachments, and an additional 150+ archery products that are there to make your life as an archer easier. From bow presses and attachments to arrow building tools and arrow wraps, we have you covered. If it involves building or tuning “any” archery equipment, we have the tools for you.

While product designs have changed and the portfolio of products offered has grown, several things have remained at the core of everything Last Chance Archery does.

More than anything else, our company-wide belief is to honor our customers. To do that, we strive to engineer and manufacture the most innovative, high-quality products. We seek to produce these products and deliver them to market at a fair and affordable price.

As our company has grown, so has our commitment to industry education and to introducing youth to our sport. Over the years, nearly the entire family has attended and competed in tournaments across the country through various organizations. The LCA trailer, booth, and Fix-It Station have been a fixture at these events for years. Helping archers in need of a tune, repair, and save their weekend with the correct tools on site when the unexpected happens.

In our effort to continually deliver new and improved products to the sport of archery, LCA has a dedicated R&D department with specialized machinery to support new product development. There’s an ongoing list of new products that the team works on 365 days a year.

default

In 2025, we made a significant investment in redesigning and upgrading the Last Chance Archery website. For our customers, the new website is much more user-friendly and offers improved functionality. On the back end, the new website provides tools we use to more accurately track orders and fill them more rapidly. The site allows international purchases with accurate shipping quotes and makes it easy for dealers to log in and order with dealer-specific pricing.

As our company continues to grow, our focus and our mission will never change. Our customers are the reason we are in business, and we will do whatever is needed to provide the most innovative products at the best price, always in a friendly and professional way.

The .30-06 Outdoors Super Stop Crossbow Decocking Point is a simple but highly effective accessory designed to make crossbow use safer and more convenient. One of the most common challenges crossbow users face is how to properly discharge their bow after a hunt or practice session. Firing a regular bolt into the ground can damage equipment or cause the arrow to bury itself and become difficult to retrieve. This product offers a straightforward solution by turning a standard bolt into a safe decocking tool.

The design is built around ease of use. It screws directly into the front of most standard crossbow bolts, eliminating the need to carry separate decocking arrows or bulky gear. This makes it especially useful for hunters who want to travel light and keep their setup efficient. With just a few seconds of attachment, the bolt is ready to be used for safe discharge, and once finished, the device can be removed just as quickly.

A key feature of the Super Stop is its added weight. By increasing the mass at the front of the bolt, it reduces the overall impact and penetration when fired. This helps prevent the arrow from digging deep into the ground or becoming damaged. Instead, the bolt stops much more quickly and is easier to recover, saving both time and money over the long run.

Durability is another strong point. The product is made from solid, machined materials that are designed to handle repeated use without breaking down. Its structure helps absorb the force generated during discharge, which not only protects the bolt but also contributes to consistent performance over time. Despite its sturdy construction, it remains compact enough to fit easily in a pocket or quiver.

Overall, the Super Stop Crossbow Decocking Point is a practical addition for anyone who uses a crossbow regularly. It improves safety, reduces wear on equipment, and simplifies a task that can otherwise be inconvenient. For both experienced hunters and beginners, it offers a reliable and cost-effective way to handle crossbow discharge with confidence.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Archery has been awarded a USFWS (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) Multi-State Conservation Grant to lead a nationwide, data-driven initiative designed to increase participation in target archery in advance of the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

With archery set to take center stage at the LA28 Games, USA Archery aims to partner with state fish and wildlife agencies and other key stakeholders to harness this unprecedented visibility and convert it into sustained growth in the sport. The initiative will focus on recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) strategies to ensure that new and returning archers become lifelong participants.

“LA28 represents a transformational moment for archery in the United States,” said Mary Emmons, Chief of Sport Performance and Operations. “This grant allows us to proactively prepare – ensuring that increased awareness translates into meaningful, long-term participation across diverse communities.”

Archery continues to attract broad and growing audiences, particularly among youth, women, and families. According to the National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation, approximately 19 million Americans participate in target archery, with nearly 20 percent under the age of 16.

As a safe, inclusive, and community-based activity, target archery often serves as an entry point to broader outdoor recreation, including hunting and other shooting sports.

Building on strong momentum – highlighted by USA Archery achieving the second-highest global social media reach among national archery federations during the 2024 Olympic Games – the project aims to ensure that interest generated by LA28 is not only captured but sustained.

The initiative will deliver new national and regional research to better understand awareness, motivations, and barriers to participation in target archery among key audiences, including the general public, hunters, anglers, and R3 professionals. These insights will inform the development of a comprehensive R3 digital toolkit tailored specifically to target archery.

The toolkit will provide:

Data-driven marketing and communication strategies

Digital engagement assets for agencies and partners

Proven partnership models to expand reach and impact

Practical tools to support local and regional program delivery

USA Archery will lead the project, with Responsive Management an internationally recognized social science research firm specializing in natural resource and outdoor recreation issues serving as a subrecipient responsible for research, analysis, and reporting.

Responsive Management has over 35 years of experience helping government agencies, nonprofits, industry groups, and academic institutions understand public attitudes, interests, and barriers related to outdoor participation, and has conducted studies in all 50 U.S. states and multiple countries. Their expertise ensures that the project’s findings will be data-driven, actionable, and tailored to the needs of state agencies and R3 professionals.

“This project represents a unique opportunity for the R3 community to take advantage of an important growing market,” said Responsive Management Executive Director Mark Damian Duda. “The new data, strategies, and tools from this effort will allow state agencies and their partners to harness the heightened interest around the LA28 Games and help drive long-term participation and continued growth in archery.”

By equipping agencies and partners with actionable insights and resources, this initiative will help ensure that the spotlight of the LA28 Games drives lasting engagement in archery nationwide – strengthening pathways for participation from grassroots to elite levels.

About USA Archery
USA Archery is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of archery in the United States. Founded in 1879, the organization promotes and grows the sport nationwide while supporting athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence at the Olympic, Paralympic, World Championship, and international levels.

Whitetails Unlimited Grants More Than $800,000 During Q1

Whitetails Unlimited recently granted $841,768 to various mission-related projects during the first quarter of 2026. These grants fall within Whitetails Unlimited’s four pillar programs: Outdoor Education, Hunting Preservation, Habitat Enhancement, and Shooting Sports Advancement. WTU’s DEER (Developing Educational and Environmental Resources) Program, which focuses on facilitating the education of youth and their families to the great outdoors, expended the greatest amount of grants, followed by the Preserving the Hunting Tradition Program.

Education is a top priority for Whitetails Unlimited. The DEER Program consists of organizational initiatives and activities such as events, activities, and educational elements that expose participants to conservation, fishing, hunting, shooting, wildlife management, and environmental education. As an advocate of hunter safety, Whitetails Unlimited is also at the forefront of providing support to hunter education and shooting instructors.

PUEBLA, Mexico – If the opening stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup is anything to go by, then the USA is on course for another strong showing in 2026, after claiming five medals in Mexico. Only China won more.

Brady Ellison qualified for his 15th World Cup Final with victory in recurve men. His path to the gold medal match began with two 6-0 wins, before he overcame teammate Christian Stoddard in the quarterfinals. Stoddard took sixth overall.

Two maximums from Ellison helped him to a 6-4 win over local favorite Mathias Grande (MEX) in the semifinal, setting up a finale with Chih-Chun Tang (TPE). Scores were not what they been previously, but with Tang requiring a 10 with his final arrow to force a shootoff, the archer from Chinese Taipei landed an eight to hand victory to Ellison.

“I needed 10 to win. It fired, and I knew it was a 10 in my head and it just missed, so I was like ‘come on’,” Ellison told archery+.

“So, I then 100 per cent expected it to be a shootoff. That’s what I was getting ready for, and then when I heard eight, I was like ‘oh’.

“Sometimes the matches go like that. You like to win them on your last arrow but coming away with the win, making the (World Cup) Final with the first stage of the year, I’m super excited.”

That gold in recurve men followed recurve men’s team gold, alongside Stoddard and Jack Williams, earlier on Sunday. The USA trio defeated Turkey but this time a shootoff was required, with Ellison landing the deciding arrow. Both teams scored 29 but Ellison was the only one to hit the X.

Ellison’s haul was completed with silver in recurve mixed team. He and Casey Kaufhold, the third seeds, defeated second seeded Turkey in the semifinals but came up short against top seeds China.

Catalina GNoriega was the best-placed USA archer in recurve women, taking joint seventh. Her path to the quarterfinals included a shootoff win over Kaufhold, who had defeated teammate Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez in the previous round.

Compound women won the first medal in Mexico for the USA. The team of Olivia Dean, Paige Pearce and Alexis Ruiz finished with silver, losing 233-232 to India in the deciding match.

Ruiz was the highest ranked archer from the USA in (individual) compound women, finishing joint seventh. Stephan Hansen, on his USA debut, took fourth in compound men.

Ruiz and Hansen combined for bronze in compound mixed team. They overcame India 155-154 to secure their place on the podium.

The USA’s top archers in recurve and compound next head to Newberry in Florida for the first event in the USAT Qualifier Series, with the Easton Foundations Gator Cup starting with team rounds on Thursday and individual competition from Friday.

Field Converges on X27 at 60th Anniversary of the Vegas Shoot

The 60th anniversary of the Vegas Shoot showcased not only record-setting performances, but a clear trend at the highest level of indoor competition: widespread adoption of a single arrow platform among the world’s top compound archers.

Across the Championship Compound divisions, a significant majority of the field—including nearly all finalists—competed with Easton X27 arrow shafts. That level of adoption reflects the demands of the format, where outcomes are decided in millimeters and equipment consistency becomes critical, and that level of performance was on full display throughout the event.

The Netherlands’ Mike Schloesser secured his third Vegas Shoot title following a pressure-filled shootdown, while Great Britain’s Ella Gibson claimed her first championship in a rare five-way shoot-off. In qualification, U.S. archer Bodie Turner delivered a historic 900-90X performance—highlighting the level of precision now required simply to reach the final stages.

In recurve competition, Brady Ellison earned his record 12th Vegas Shoot title, while Casey Kaufhold defended her championship to secure her third overall win.

As scoring tightens and fields deepen, equipment selection has become increasingly uniform at the top levels of the sport—particularly in indoor compound, where elite archers continue to prioritize setups that minimize variables under pressure.

The trend is hard to ignore, when nearly the entire final field shows up with the same platform, it says something about what top archers are looking for right now—repeatability and confidence shot to shot.

The 2026 Vegas Shoot once again demonstrated the evolution of competitive archery, where margins are razor-thin, and performance is defined by execution as much as equipment.
