National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) reports an increased interest and consumer requests for bowhunter education.

NBEF recently conducted bowhunter education instructor training and certification at two locations in Kansas. Steve Hall, a retired hunter ed administrator from Texas and NBEF board member, led the trainings for dozens of instructors. These training sessions were requested because of increased interest for more in-depth bowhunting knowledge. The instructor class attendees were agency staff involved in hunter ed, the R3 department, and National Archery in the Schools Program state employees.

“NBEF offers training opportunities for instructors so they can confidently share their knowledge and passion for bowhunting with students,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “We’re pleased to report an increased need for bowhunter ed classes and instructors. And we’re extremely fortunate to have individuals like Steve Hall and others available to conduct instructor training and certification when needed.”

NBEF endeavors to spread NBEF’s message about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes, informational materials and to enthusiastically support the industry.

NBEF helps bowhunters learn to be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.

About NBEF: The National Bowhunter Education Foundation offers instructional content and tools for bowhunter education classes in the US. Whitetails Unlimited Grants More Than $800,000 During Q1

Whitetails Unlimited recently granted $841,768 to various mission-related projects during the first quarter of 2026. These grants fall within Whitetails Unlimited’s four pillar programs: Outdoor Education, Hunting Preservation, Habitat Enhancement, and Shooting Sports Advancement. WTU’s DEER (Developing Educational and Environmental Resources) Program, which focuses on facilitating the education of youth and their families to the great outdoors, expended the greatest amount of grants, followed by the Preserving the Hunting Tradition Program.

Education is a top priority for Whitetails Unlimited. The DEER Program consists of organizational initiatives and activities such as events, activities, and educational elements that expose participants to conservation, fishing, hunting, shooting, wildlife management, and environmental education. As an advocate of hunter safety, Whitetails Unlimited is also at the forefront of providing support to hunter education and shooting instructors.
