One of the things that has always separated BIGshot Targets from many companies in the industry is its commitment to supporting archery at every level. Beyond manufacturing innovative targets for bowhunters, competitive shooters, clubs, and ranges, BIGshot continues to invest directly into the events that keep our sport growing.

Throughout the year, BIGshot can be found supporting a wide range of archery events across the country, helping clubs, organizations, and shooters create memorable experiences while encouraging participation in both competitive and recreational archery. From local shoots to major tournaments, these events provide opportunities for archers of all skill levels to test their abilities, spend time with fellow enthusiasts, and introduce new participants to the sport.

Event sponsorships play an important role in the future of archery. They help organizers provide better experiences, improve target presentations, increase prize opportunities, and create events that participants look forward to attending year after year. By partnering with event organizers, BIGshot helps ensure that archers have access to quality equipment and professionally managed shooting opportunities.

The company’s roots are deeply connected to the archery community. BIGshot’s story began on local 3D ranges and club shoots, where the need for more durable, affordable targets led to the development of products that quickly gained popularity among fellow archers. That connection to grassroots archery remains a major part of the company’s identity today.

As bowhunting season approaches and participation in summer shoots continues to build, BIGshot’s support of archery events serves as a reminder that strong companies help build strong communities. Whether it’s a local club hosting its annual shoot or a major regional competition attracting shooters from multiple states, sponsorship support helps create the experiences that keep archers engaged and excited about the sport.

Inside Archery applauds BIGshot Targets for its continued investment in archery and its commitment to supporting the events, clubs, and shooters that make this industry so special.

National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) reports an increased interest and consumer requests for bowhunter education.

NBEF recently conducted bowhunter education instructor training and certification at two locations in Kansas. Steve Hall, a retired hunter ed administrator from Texas and NBEF board member, led the trainings for dozens of instructors. These training sessions were requested because of increased interest for more in-depth bowhunting knowledge. The instructor class attendees were agency staff involved in hunter ed, the R3 department, and National Archery in the Schools Program state employees.

“NBEF offers training opportunities for instructors so they can confidently share their knowledge and passion for bowhunting with students,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “We’re pleased to report an increased need for bowhunter ed classes and instructors. And we’re extremely fortunate to have individuals like Steve Hall and others available to conduct instructor training and certification when needed.”

NBEF endeavors to spread NBEF’s message about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes, informational materials and to enthusiastically support the industry.

NBEF helps bowhunters learn to be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.

About NBEF: The National Bowhunter Education Foundation offers instructional content and tools for bowhunter education classes in the US. Helping bowhunters learn to become safe and successful hunters and stewards of the sport is important to the NBEF. NBEF provides the bowhunter certification and class content that some states and certain circumstances require to bow hunt. NBEF provides instructor training and certification.

NBEF oversees the International Bowhunter Education Program and works with the International Hunter Education Association and state agencies to coordinate a unified program. States may have additional requirements. Europe and other countries offer full reciprocity for the NBEF (IBEP) certification and conduct classes.

NBEF also oversees the International Crossbow Education Program and works with state agencies responsible for crossbow education to develop comprehensive online crossbow safety courses that teach students important laws and regulations, game identification, and safe, responsible handling of crossbow equipment.

NBEF is a 501(c)3 corporation that isn’t a membership-based organization. Tax-deductible donations to support this non-profit are welcome.

More than 23,000 acres of crucial range for elk, as well as a vital migration corridor for the second-largest mule deer herd in Nevada, is now protected under a voluntary conservation agreement (also known as a conservation easement) between the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a private landowner. A corresponding access easement across the property, managed by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW), provides new or improved access to 47,000 acres of checkerboard private and public land for hunting and other outdoor recreation.

Windermere Hills in Elko County is part of a working ranch named as a conservation priority for Pequop Mountains mule deer, part of the state’s Area 7 herd, in NDOW’s 2024 Nevada State Action Plan. The plan, issued under Department of the Interior Secretarial Order 3362, outlines projects for improving habitat quality in Western big game winter range and migration corridors.

Pequop Mountains mule deer pass through Windermere Hills twice annually during their seasonal migrations. The project contains two heavily used highway wildlife crossings—an overpass and underpass that allow mule deer, elk, pronghorns and other animals to avoid collisions with vehicles—on U.S. 93. The U.S. 93 wildlife crossings provide big game safe passage to additional crossings on Interstate 80 that lead to winter range at the southern end of the Pequop mule deer migration route. Research by the University of Nevada, Reno recorded more than 35,000 incidents of mule deer using U.S. 93 wildlife crossings during four years of monitoring migrations.

“The importance of Windermere Hills to both elk and mule deer cannot be overstated,” said RMEF President and CEO Kyle Weaver. “Without this habitat, the movement patterns big game animals rely on for survival would be disrupted. Thanks to cooperation from a conservation-minded landowner, NDOW and other partners, we’ve protected a property to ensure the future of multiple species and at the same time solved a complex public access challenge for hunters.”

Windermere provides sagebrush steppe, wet meadow and native grassland habitat, along with water sources in the form of numerous springs as well as intermittent and perennial streams. The property, located about 20 miles northeast of Wells, serves as range for not only elk and mule deer, but also pronghorns, greater sage grouse and other wildlife. The agreement protects habitat connectivity across more than 400,000 acres of private and public land in an area where RMEF previously completed numerous habitat stewardship projects.

“This project is yet another testament to the strong partnership between the Nevada Department of Wildlife, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and private landowners working in lockstep toward conserving vital wildlife habitat, ensuring sustainable use and protecting open space in perpetuity,” said NDOW Deputy Director Caleb McAdoo. “The same open space that is necessary to operate family ranches is also paramount to thriving wildlife populations. Protecting them all together in a sustainable fashion is something we can all get behind.”

As a testament to the importance of the project, RMEF was awarded an $850,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) through Walmart’s Acres for America program in support of conserving Windermere—the largest NFWF grant to RMEF to date. Other funding partners included the State of Nevada, NDOW and Nevada Muleys.

RMEF just released the first episode of a four-part docuseries detailing the Windermere Hills project at YouTube.com/@RMEF. Narrated by RMEF OutdoorClass subject-matter expert and Nevada native Remi Warren, “A Win for Windermere” explores the special relationship between habitat, wildlife and people that exists on the property, and how RMEF works with landowners and other partners to further big game conservation.

About the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation: Now in its fifth decade of Conserving America’s Big Game, RMEF will extend its impact on habitat and public land access to 10 million acres by 2030. RMEF conserves and enhances habitat for elk and a variety of big game, opens and improves access for hunting and other outdoor recreation, conducts science-based wildlife research and ensures the future of our hunting heritage through advocacy, outreach and education. Members, volunteers and supporters nationwide help RMEF further its mission. Find out more and join the movement at rmef.org or 800-CALL-ELK.

National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) Executive Director Marilyn Bentz was recently awarded with The Ann Weber Hoyt Award of Merit. The Ann Weber Hoyt Award is reserved for those deserving women who have demonstrated excellence in career achievements and service to the archery community as an administrator, bowhunter, businessperson, coach, competitor or official.

“It’s an honor to receive this award; especially after knowing and bowhunting with Ann Hoyt,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “I’m passionate about archery and bowhunting and really enjoy spreading that passion with others. Throughout my career I’ve worked to increase participation and partnered with great individuals and organizations to amplify those efforts.”

“Marilyn’s a great ambassador for archery and bowhunting. She’s an excellent connector within the industry and while doing outreach,” said Tom Nelson, Archery Hall of Fame Board President. “We extend congratulations to our friend and colleague Marilyn on receiving the Ann Hoyt Award.”

A two-term board member of the Archery Trade Association, Bentz has led the National Bowhunter Education Foundation as Executive Director since 2003. This global nonprofit is dedicated to bowhunter safety and education through standardized curriculum. Previously, she served on the NBEF Board of Directors from 1996 – 2003. Continuing to serve the bowhunting industry, Bentz was elected to the Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation in 2025. Bentz also served on the Archery Hall of Fame Board of Directors. Marilyn was instrumental in the construction of the Archery Hall of Fame and Museum located in Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. Marilyn was onsite two days a week from June 2012 until September 2012 when the AHOF was opened.

In recognition of her contributions to the archery and hunting community, Bentz has received the prestigious Fred Bear Achievement Award. In 2005, Bentz was inducted into The Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame. She received IHEA’s coveted Gladney Davidson award in 2016 for making significant contributions to hunter education. In 2026, Bentz was honored with the ATA’s Industry Impact Award for inspiring others and growing participation in archery and bowhunting.

Bentz is a familiar face in the industry, attending many conferences and events each year. NBEF exhibits at and sponsors many of these events with Bentz often providing an update on bowhunter education or serving as a panelist. Representing NBEF, Bentz regularly attends the Archery Trade Association trade show, ATA Summit, SHOT Show, National Wild Turkey Federation conference, National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) competitions and state coordinator conferences, National Wildlife & National Resource conference, Association of Conservation Information conference, Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies conference, National R3 conference, Pope & Young conference, International Hunter Education USA conference, 4-H national conference, Tree Stand Manufacturers Association conference, Archery Hall of Fame events, Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame events, state R3 conferences, Professional Outdoor Media Association conference and various state media conferences.

She began her career in the outdoor industry through a professional connection with renowned entrepreneur Chuck Saunders. Bentz advanced through key leadership roles in top archery and hunting companies, including National Sales Manager and Director of Marketing at Saunders Archery, followed by senior positions such as Director of Sales and Marketing and Vice President of National Sales at McKenzie Targets, Knight & Hale; Hale/Code Blue–PRADCO, and Golden Eagle/Satellite Archery/Bear Archery/North American Archery.

NBEF endeavors to spread NBEF’s message about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes, informational materials and to enthusiastically support the industry.

MEDELLIN, Colombia – It was a case of quality providing quantity as the United States topped the medal table at the 2026 Pan American Youth and Masters Championships, with a haul of 11 gold, nine silver and 11 bronze, while also setting new standards along the way.

Mark Williams and Janis Grellner set a new world record in recurve 50+ mixed team, shooting 1239, before marching on to win gold. Williams finished with three gold medals, taking top spot in individual recurve 50+ men and then winning recurve 50+ men team alongside Ali Gungoraydinoglu and Mark Hainline.

“Medellin has been fantastic,” Williams commented. “They’ve put on an amazing tournament. Team USA has been very successful. It has been an honor to represent the USA. What a privilege to be here. Thank you USA Archery for organizing this for our team.”

Grellner also won individual bronze in recurve 50+ women, with teammate Jamie McCarrison taking the gold. Grellner added, “All competitors shot well and the host country did a wonderful job! I’m grateful for the achievement of the recurve 50+ mixed team world record. I’m honored to represent our country and to earn the world record!”

Gungoraydinoglu, Hainline and Williams set a new Games and Continental record in recurve 50+ men team with a combined total of 1897.

Paige Lee was another multi-medalist, winning gold in recurve U15 women and silver in recurve U15 mixed team with Anirduhkalyan Pinjala. Paige’s score of 688 during qualification is another Games and Continental record, as is her combined score of 1352 with Pinjala.

Paige said, “I love being able to wear the USA jersey and represent my country doing what I love. It has been such an amazing experience meeting athletes from other countries and competing against them. I’m so grateful for this opportunity!”

Others returning home with more than one medal include Eliana Son (bronze, recurve U21 women; silver, recurve U21 mixed team), Jack Chen (gold, recurve U18 men team; bronze, recurve U18 mixed team), Madelyn Yi (gold, recurve U18 women; silver, recurve U18 women team), Yeshaswini Tati (silver, recurve U18 women team; bronze, recurve U18 women) and Zoie Thompson (silver, compound U21 women; bronze, compound U21 women team).

The USA claimed 12 of the 14 medals up for grabs in the barebow division, including a silver for Nathan Lee in U15 men and women. His score in qualification was 621, yet another Games and Continental best for the outstanding USA.

The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®) is proud to recognize the generosity and servant leadership demonstrated by NASP® schools, coaches, and student archers during the 2025–2026 NASP® St. Jude E-Championship Charity Tournament Series. Together, participating schools voluntarily raised $35,152.09 in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Hosted through NASPtournaments.org, the monthly virtual tournaments provide schools an opportunity to compete in the familiar NASP® format while also supporting children and families facing life-threatening illnesses. Participation in the fundraiser portion is entirely optional, making the effort especially meaningful for the schools and coaches who choose to participate.

NASP® would like to recognize the fundraising schools of the season that raised $500 or more and inspired a culture of service among their archers, encouraging students to continue shooting arrows in support of others.

“Our gratitude to the NASP® BAIs across the country who continue to make the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital fundraisers a priority,” said Tommy Floyd. “These wonderful NASP® instructors are teaching so much more than just archery. Their student-archers are learning the value of ‘doing’ for others and no doubt, feel the pride that comes with supporting such a worthwhile cause as SJCRH.”

He continued, “Thank you NASP® coaches, teams, and individuals that have made this worthwhile fundraising effort an annual success. This is a great example of what NASP® continues to emphasize across its 10,000 schools; NASP® is changing lives, one arrow at a time!”

One participating program, Prosper High School, shared how the fundraiser reflects the culture of their archery community. Jennifer, a Prosper coach, said, “Supporting St. Jude teaches our archers something bigger than competition: the power of giving back,” she shared. “It reminds them that their efforts can make a real difference in the lives of children and families who are fighting unimaginable battles.”

Centennial High School archery coach Heather Miller stated, “The fight against childhood cancer hits close to home, as one of our current senior archers was cured of cancer by St. Jude Children’s Hospital as a young boy and remains in remission. For the past four seasons the Centennial Charger Archery Team stepped up for this important cause by hosting a special St. Jude internal tournament for archers and their families and implementing other fundraising efforts.” Each year, Centennial continues to beat previous record donations. Their archers and families are one amazing example of how NASP® students are making a difference in their lives and others.

While NASP® is built around the safe instruction of archery and the 11 Steps to Archery Success, efforts like the St. Jude E-Championship continue to demonstrate that NASP® programs are also developing leadership, compassion, teamwork, and service-minded students in schools across the country.

NEW ULM, MN — General booth space selection for ATA Show Week 2027 opens Tuesday, June 9, following the current priority booth selection period for qualifying exhibitors and giving all remaining archery and bowhunting brands the opportunity to secure their place at the industry’s largest and most connected week of business, competition and consumer engagement.

Taking place Jan. 7–10, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, ATA Show Week brings together the ATA Trade Show, Archery & Bowhunting Supershow and NFAA Rushmore Rumble under one roof, with additional tournaments and events to be announced in the coming months — creating a unique opportunity for exhibitors to maximize return on investment by reaching multiple audiences in a single trip. From retail buyers and media to passionate consumers and competitive archers, ATA Show Week places brands in front of the people driving purchasing decisions and industry momentum heading into the season.

“For exhibitors, ATA Show Week delivers exceptional value because it brings so many parts of the archery industry together in one location,” Jeff Poole, ATA president and CEO, said. “Brands have the opportunity to meet with retailers, launch products, build consumer excitement and strengthen industry relationships all in one place.”

The ATA Trade Show remains the archery industry’s premier members-only B2B buying event, where retailers and manufacturers gather to write orders, discover new products and prepare for the year ahead. The Archery & Bowhunting Supershow then extends exhibitor reach by connecting brands directly with consumers eager to experience the latest equipment firsthand, while the return of the NFAA Rushmore Rumble and additional archery tournaments to be announced adds another layer of excitement throughout the week.

For exhibitors, that means more visibility, more qualified conversations and more opportunities to generate business without the expense of attending multiple events across the country.

ATA Show Week exhibitor benefits include:

– Direct access to thousands of qualified retailers and buyers – Face-to-face engagement with consumers and competitive archers – New product launch opportunities ahead of the season – Increased media exposure and content opportunities – Networking events with industry leaders and decision-makers – A centralized event experience that maximizes travel and marketing budgets

With exhibitor interest already building and many exhibitors already securing space through the priority selection process, companies are encouraged to begin planning now ahead of the June 9 general booth space selection opening. Brands can begin preparing for booth selection by visiting the official ATA Show Week Floor Plan. Additional exhibitor information, promotional opportunities and event details are available at atashow.com.

For booth space and sponsorship opportunities, contact ATA Sales Manager Eric Dobberfuhl at ericdobberfuhl@archerytrade.org or (507) 233-8142.

Serving our members since 1953, the Archery Trade Association is the leading organization for manufacturers, retailers, distributors, sales representatives and others working in the archery and bowhunting industry. The ATA works to increase the recruitment and retention of new, current and once-active archers and bowhunters, while serving as a driving force in defending, educating and lobbying for the greater good of the industry and sport. The ATA preserves and promotes archery and bowhunting’s rich heritage to ensure active consumer participation and successful manufacturing and retailing for generations to come. The ATA owns and operates the ATA Trade Show, the archery and bowhunting industry’s largest and longest-running trade show worldwide.
