Sparta, WI – Two Mission Crossbow shooters were able to capitalize on Mission’s contingency program at the ASA Pro/Am opener in Foley, Alabama. Brian Scott took 1st place, receiving $2,000, while Steve Williamson took 2nd, receiving $1,000.

“We decided to offer a crossbow contingency in an effort to grow the crossbow community,” said Tanya Thurow, Mission Crossbow Category Manager. “I think it speaks volumes to how committed we are to growing the sport.”

ASA and IBO tournaments test shooter’s skills on 3D targets. These highly competitive tournament circuits tour around the country and feature some of the best shooters in the world.

“Accuracy and reliability is a must when competing at this level,” says Brian Scott who won the Crossbow Class shooting his Sniper Lite. “The Mission Sniper Lite performed flawlessly for me.”

Steve Williamson, who took 2nd in the tournament, has been shooting competitively for over 25 years. After battling neck cancer in 2012, Williamson was no longer able to compete with a compound bow. The crossbow class allows him to stay competitive at the highest level.

“I don’t think a lot of people realize you can shoot a crossbow competitively,” said Williamson. “I really appreciate what Mission is doing by promoting this sport with contingency prizes.”
