Carbon Express unleashes the new Maxima RED SD arrows. The smaller .203-inch inside diameter carbon shaft has stiffer ends to contain the arrow’s flex to the arrow’s RED ZONE. The RED ZONE is the section of the arrow shaft engineered by Carbon Express to contain dynamic spine, which reduces wind-drift for greater long-range accuracy. The Maxima RED SD takes only two spine sizes to cover 40- to 92-pound bows. Six- and 12-packs are sorted and matched by weight and spine. Spine selection sorting tolerance is +/- 0.0025-inch. Weight sorting tolerance is +/- 1.0 grains.

For a limited time, Easton’s Utah factory will produce the FMJ in retro XX75 Camo Hunter finish known by countless bowhunters in the 1970s. The limited edition FMJ shafts will use the same construction as the other Full Metal Jacket arrows—an aluminum jacket over a high-strength carbon core. The 5MM has a micro diameter for more penetration and offers a higher level of broadhead accuracy than a standard carbon arrow. The FMJ is offered in six models including: 4MM, 5MM, 6MM, Dangerous Game, Crossbow, and Bowfishing. The 5MM retro is available in four spine sizes: 500, 400, 340 and 300.

For the first time ever, Gold Tip introduces four fletchings straight from the factory. The Valkyrie comes “Factory-Four-Fletched” with aggressive graphics, lightweight construction and four low-profile vanes for added surface area without sacrificing clearance or speed. That means more back-end drag, faster stabilization, and group size reductions of 20-75 percent with broadheads. Add to that Gold Tip’s 100 percent Pure Carbon technology for unmatched straightness retention and toughness and you get the Valkyrie. It’s also now available in Hunter Pro, Velocity Pro, Kinetic Kaos, and Kinetic Pierce Platinum.

Victory Archery added the VAP TKO Elite, offering the shaft in a straightness rating of +-.0001. In addition, Victory has also incorporated dynamic new arrow graphics to the entire VAP TKO series. The VAP TKO combines a 100 percent carbon micro-diameter shaft with a new manufacturing process the company calls MaxxKe Technology, a unique 45- degree carbon weave that reduces the twisting force imparted on the arrow during launch. The small internal diameter arrow measures a.166 inches (ID). Standard Shok inserts are available in either 35-grain 7075 hard-anodized aluminum, or 95-grain 303 stainless steel.

In November of 2015, National NASP® leadership and a group of NASP® educators and students met to discuss ways to further enhance the program. One recommendation was to establish a uniform incentive and recognition format to recognize and promote academic achievement for participating NASP® students. The concept of a NASP® Academic Archer was born.

In its first year of implementation, Academic Archer finished with 8,517 students enrolled. Educators from 38 US states and two Canadian Provinces implemented the NASP® Academic Archer Program with their students. Easton Technical Products became the Title sponsor of the program and recently demonstrated their full commitment to recognizing academic excellence in their decision to recognize the top Academic Archers at the upcoming NASP® National tournament. See: http://naspschools.org/news/news.php?id=1451

Now in its second year, the academic recognition program has far exceeded expectations for enrollment in states and jurisdictions across the globe as this year, Academic Archer included students from 45 states, provinces and countries.

Georgia NASP® Coordinator Jennifer Pittman said, “The NASP Academic Archer program has been a huge success in Georgia. We are now able to recognize students that participate in archery during the school day who are also excelling in academics. This pairing of archery and schoolwork is a win-win for the students and the school. I am excited that we are now able to honor these students who put the effort into their schoolwork as well as archery. I congratulate all of our Academic Archers in Georgia for their hard work and dedication.”

Indiana NASP® Coordinator and NASP® board member Tim Beck said, “Since the inception of NASP® in Indiana, the focus has always been on the students. With the addition of the Academic Archer Program we now are coming full circle, as we recognize these students for their classroom accomplishments as well as their archery skills. NASP® is truly changing lives, one arrow at a time.”

Dr. Tommy Floyd, NASP® Vice President and General Manager said, “It is our hope that every NASP® jurisdiction will enroll students in the program. We’d like to see the Academic Archer numbers top 50,000+ students someday. Continued success in the classroom will allow students to have expanded options in their chosen life path. It is our intent to continue to send the strongest of messages about how important the emphasis on learning and success in the classroom really is.”

NASP® President Roy Grimes said, “Our partner, Easton Technical Products has obviously proven their belief in recognizing and motivating students to do well in school! We believe that the more we emphasize in-school archery as an extension of the classroom, the more that educators can use programs like Academic Archer as a motivational tool, and the greater likelihood that NASP® will be around to motivate future generations of young students!”

NASP motivates students to work harder in the classroom! In an ongoing National NASP student survey, 42% of them have said so, and 63% of those same students indicated that NASP makes them feel more connected with their school. Easton Technical Products (ETP) is not only paying attention, but will now recognize academically successful students at the National NASP tournament. Easton Technical Products is a Gold Medal Level Sponsor of the National Archery in the Schools Program and the Title sponsor of the NASP Academic Archer program. ETP has now elected to recognize the top scoring Academic Archers competing in the 2017 NASP National Tournament in Louisville, KY on May 11- 13, 2017.

Archers in each of the three divisions – elementary, middle school and high school. Each prize package will include Easton arrows, Easton accessories, a Delta McKenzie Target and a Hoyt bow of their choice.

In its second year of implementation, Academic Archer has currently more than doubled in participants to 18,831 students enrolled. This year’s Academic Archer enrollment closes April 30, 2017. Educators and Coaches have registered these students on the NASP tournament website throughout the school year. Educator feedback indicates that Academic Archer has been successful in recognizing academic success at the local level, and was a motivational tool to push students to do their best in the classroom.

Mark Pezzoni, President of Easton Technical Products said, “I believe that our sponsorship of the NASP Academic Archer Program is one of the best investments we make here at Easton. This program is in direct alignment to our company vision: Advancing Archery’s Legacy. The Academic Archer Program is the only effort I am aware of, that ties academic achievement to archery as a competition and team sport. If you are passionate about archery and care about next generation participation, I truly know of no better program.”

Carri Garrett of Easton Technical Products said, “These students have demonstrated their excellence in the classroom as well as on the archery range. We are proud to give them tools to continue to succeed in their pursuits. We want to encourage them to build on the archery skills learned in NASP® and maximize their archery experience whether in target archery, 3D or hunting.”

Roy Grimes, president of NASP said, “We are thrilled to have Easton Technical Products (ETP) not only as a Gold level sponsor of NASP, but as the official sponsor of NASP Academic Archer. Easton understood early on that supporting academic excellence represented half of the mission of NASP. The continued emphasis that they place on supporting teachers to engage students through in-school archery is again demonstrated in this latest announcement. ETP and NASP care about how students perform in the classroom and about getting students engaged and on target for life after high school. This is a great example of how an archery industry giant decides to support something that is truly essential for student success and can lead to life success. We believe that Easton Technical Products and the people behind it care about student success!”

Dr. Tommy Floyd, NASP Vice President and General Manager commented on the announcement saying, “Easton Technical Products has always been a tremendous partner for the NASP. This is a perfect example of where a leader in the archery industry puts their money where their mouth is! Easton sends the strongest of messages – Academic success matters! NASP archers will soon understand that when you combine archery marksmanship with scholastic excellence, someone is paying attention; and not just someone, but an archery industry leader long recognized for a commitment to archery and success.

Doug Easton began his archery company in 1922. His enterprise started out with him in his workshop making handcrafted wood arrows and longbows one at a time. The arrows featured Doug’s own signature cresting applied to the finest hand-selected cedar shafting he could find. “It’s only natural we tap into our history and offer the premier arrow for traditional archery” stated Gary Cornum, Easton Marketing Manager.

Indeed, Easton’s woodgrain Axis is a nod to Doug’s meticulous commitment to crafting the finest traditional equipment available in that era. In addition to the retro look, the Axis Traditional has a long list of performance features as well. Stick-bow shooters will appreciate a micro-diameter shaft that adds hunting penetration by reducing friction through hide and bone. But what sets the Axis Traditional apart the most is the classic woodgrain look of the made-in-USA carbon shafting. “We really wanted to make the Axis Traditional something special by tapping into our 95-year legacy,” Cornum continued. “We took some of Doug’s 1920’s-era wood arrows—borrowing from his original cresting colors—and used them to inspire the design for the Axis banding.”

The made-in-USA Axis Traditional comes with bone color nocks and aluminum inserts included. Available brass inserts will add weight upfront for archers looking to boost FOC.

The Quarterback Stabilizer has six rubber dampeners and a rubber o-ring with a patent-pending front-hollow damper that holds up to 10 quarters for a weight-forwarding effect. Acting in the same way that a heavy barrel steadies a target rifle, this weighted end-damper helps keep a bow on target. Quarterback Stabilizer owners can add no quarters for minimal weight effect or the 10 quarter maximum for an additional 1.6 ounces of front-end leverage. Covering everything is a rugged CNC-machined aluminum shell, making the Quarterback Stabilizer durable. Shooters can choose from 6-inch and 9-inch models in seven damper colors.
The LS Hunter Micro is a streamlined, small-diameter, weight-forward stabilizer that allows for low wind drag and easy navigation through rough and rugged terrain. Available in 8- and 9.5-inch lengths, this stabilizer gives you the same benefits as longer pro stabilizers. An added 5.6 ounces on the end of the stabilizer gives you a steady shot and helps you keep your pin on the target. The FW1 Stabilizer Enhancer effectively dampens unwanted vibration and helps your bow settle faster. You can add as many additional weights as you want to the end of the enhancer using the built-in 5/16-inch thread mount. The LS Hunter Micro is constructed out of a narrow 5/8-inch diameter, ultra-rigid, high-modulus carbon fiber that does not flex or bounce. The high modulus carbon fiber structure utilizes NAVCOM (Noise and Vibration Dampening Material) technology inside to give you a smooth and quiet shot.
