T.R.U. Ball Industry 5Q

In the T.R.U. Ball Industry 5Q, Brandon Reyes discussed the technology and processes that T.R.U. Ball employ each year when creating new releases. As luck would have it, their new 2017 line was just unveiled. It includes:

GLORY

This dual-caliper release features a 440 hardened stainless steel roller sears, ergonomic trigger, easy draw-length adjustment, and the popular Globo-Swivel strap connector, which reduces torque and folds into your sleeve.

VALOR

This single-caliper release has the new Jaw-and-a-Half Design, which is a floating half-jaw with the perfect inside curve for a smooth release and micro-adjustment to account for different rope loop materials. The VALOR also features 440 hardened stainless steel roller sears, an ergonomic trigger and the Globo-Swivel strap connector.

Here’s T.R.U. Ball’s quick video overview: https://www.facebook.com/truballarchery/videos/1403390419672208/

On the target side of things, Jesse Broadwater introduced his T.R.U. Ball Signature Series: the Abyss Flex and FulKrum Flex.

The Abyss Flex is a thumb activated release, and the FulKrum Flex is a trigger-less back-tension release with a micro-adjustable sear. They both feature all new handle adjustments, four possible head locations in the lever alignment system, and 30 degrees of radial adjustment in each finger grip location. The Fulkrum Flex also features individual travel and sensitivity adjustments.

The 50th annual Vegas Shoot just wrapped up and it set the bar for attendance, with over 3,000 shooters from across the globe. Three tense days of shooting yielded some interesting results. The most interesting perhaps being that this year saw a remarkably low number of perfect scores, possibly due to the stress caused by a massive payout of $50,000 and a huge, enthusiastic crowd.

On day 1 alone only 38 archers ended with perfect scores, as compared to 49 in 2015, 46 in 2014, and 42 in 2013. As the weekend progressed the numbers continued to drop until only 5 shooters remained.

This year the 900 Club comprised of: Chance Beaubouef, Justin Hannah, Logan Wilde, Reza Zamaninejad and George Ryals. They were also joined by Sergio Pagni, the ‘lucky dog’ shooter who scored an almost perfect 899.

The 50th Vegas Shoot was given another moment for the record books as ‘lucky dog’ Sergio Pagni beat out the 5 previously-perfect shooters for the championship, marking the first time in the Vegas Shoot’s entire history that a ‘lucky dog’ won the competition.

“Lucky dog” Sergio Pagni – Photo Credit: World Archery

On the women’s side of the freestyle finals there were three archers that remained: Inge van Caspel, who came all the way from the Netherlands, and American archers Sarah Lance and Christie Colin. Ultimately Inge van Caspel won with a score of 29, the other two scoring 28 and 27.

The RubberNeck
This release features a 10° swivel head for less torque. The ThermaDynamic rubber sleeve and thumb grip lets you keep a grip on your shots while eliminating the feeling of grabbing cold metal during a late season hunt. The head also swivels back and tucks into your sleeve for quiet climbing into your treestand and it’s less in your way when you’re headed to and from your stand or spotting and stalking.

The Sweet Spot Pro
T.R.U. Ball took the Sweet Spot II and gave it a makeover. Similar to its predecessor, the Sweet Spot Pro allows you to draw without holding the back part of the handle forward and gives you the same amount of travel every time you press the thumb activator. Made from solid brass and 3 interchangeable aircraft aluminum handle pieces (included in the package), this release can be customized for how you like to shoot without buying an entire new release.

The Abyss and FulKrum by Jesse Broadwater have been some of the most popular brass handles on the market and by popular demand they will now be made in 4 finger models. These releases can be used interchangeably to switch immediately from pure back tension to a thumb trigger because they are based on the same handle platform with the same handle and draw length.

This release features the ThermaDynamic rubber sleeve and thumb grip to keep a grip on your release while eliminating the feeling of cold metal on those freezing mornings in the treestand. It’s made in 4 different colors to match your terrain or your style. Flip it back to tuck it into your sleeve when you’re headed to and from your stand and adjust draw length quickly and easily.
