New Archery Events Include Friday Twilight Series & Rinehart 100

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – July 5 –Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has hit the bull’s eye with their 3D target archery course by growing the archery programs at the resort to include a Sitka® 3D Archery Series and a stop on the National Rinehart 100 tour in August.

Lift accessed archery became a reality at CBMR two summers ago with a one day 3D competition benefiting the local archery club West Elk Archers. Now, archers can enjoy daily access to a 21 target 3D course by using the Red Lady Express Lift, which runs daily through September 5 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.The lift also runs late for Twilight hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The loop from the top of the chair lift covers about one and a half miles where Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, Fox, Coyote and Rocky Mountain Elk are set amongst the beautiful mountain landscape that appeal to all ability levels, and returns archers to the lift where they will download back to the base area. All participants must bring their own bow and arrows as no rentals are available on site.

The free Sitka® 3D Archery Series takes place on Friday July 22, July 29, and August 5, during Twilight hours. Registrants must pick up a scorecard at the sight in range and bring it to Jefe’s by 7 p.m. to get tallied for awards and entered in a free raffle. The series offers an excellent training opportunity leading up to the Rinehart 100, which will be held on August 13 and 14. The Rinehart 100 will offer multiple ranges around the mountain with a total of one hundred 3D targets for archers to test their skills. An added bonus, archers are on course, they are just a 20 minute walk from the newest culinary outlet at CBMR. The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks is open daily 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and the perfect spot to have a drink and snack after practicing on the targets.
