Tara Currie photoThe University of the Cumberlands (UC) Archery program just wrapped up their indoor season and are now looking ahead to the USIAC Outdoor Nationals. Head Coach Kris Strebeck has already been on the hunt for recruits of the upcoming 2016-2017 season. Coach Strebeck and the Patriots are proud to announce the signing of Tara Currie for the 2016-2017 season.

Tara hails from Sand Springs, Oklahoma and is the daughter of Billy and Kerri Currie. She will graduate from Charles Page High School in May where she is a member of the archery team.

Currie has nine podium finishes in ASA Pro/Ams including two Classic wins, Region’s Pro/Am Champion, Deerman’s T.H.E. 3-D World Champion, four-time Oklahoma ASA State Champion, two-time OSAA Indoor State Champion, OSAA State 3-D State Champion, Region’s Oklahoma State Champion, JOAD Oklahoma Outdoor Champion, and Deer’s T.H.E. 3-D State Champion.

When asked about competing at Cumberlands, Currie states, “I am so grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity to continue my archery career with a team who shares my passion for the sport. Some of the nation’s most talented archers belong to the Patriots’ Archery team, and I am so incredibly excited to compete alongside them as I strive toward my dreams of becoming a professional archer.”
