The bow and arrow are among the oldest weapon systems still in use today. The VAP-SS™ from Victory Archery® represents an effort to combine this long history with current engineering and material technology.
Modern hunting bows place significant demands on arrows, generating high torque and energy. Arrows designed for these bows are expected to balance strength, thin profiles, accuracy, reliability, and penetration.
The VAP-SS is built with a .166 micro-diameter shaft, which is intended to reduce wind drift and improve penetration. Each arrow is hand-fletched and utilizes digital spine alignment technology to enhance consistency and grouping. Its construction incorporates woven stainless steel mesh infused with Mitsubishi carbon fiber, finished with a 90° carbon fiber weave. This design aims to increase hoop strength and durability. The VAP-SS is noted as the first steel-carbon infused arrow shaft produced by Victory Archery.
Additional features include Victory’s Ice Nano Ceramic Coating, which is designed to aid penetration and make arrows easier to remove from targets. The arrows come standard with a 50-grain Shok™ TL Aluminum insert, with a 75-grain stainless steel upgrade available. Each arrow set is weight-matched within ±0.5 grains and offered in straightness tolerances of ±0.001”, ±0.003”, or ±0.006”.
