Wasp Archery introduces the new Sharp Shooter CBW (Cuts Both Ways) broadheads in cooperation with professional hunting outfitter and outdoors content creator Fred Eichler.

“My guides and I hunted with close to 200 bowhunters over the last couple of years and 90% of those bowhunters release at least one arrow during the hunt. That gives us a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn’t from a bowhunting standpoint,” said Fred Eichler.” One thing that jumps out to us each year is how many of those hunters were not getting a pass through with their broadheads.”
The new Sharp Shooter CBW will be available in 100 and 150 grain options. Both feature a Wasp designed cut-on-contact tip with a 1-inch cutting diameter. The main blade is 0.40-inch thick and features the CBW edge, while the bleeder blades are .027 inch. Bowhunters can shoot the heads with or without the bleeder blades, with the head weight approximately 5 grains less without the bleeders.

“Old school bow hunters may remember sharpening the back edge of their broadheads to increase damage when the head stayed in the animal,” said Eichler. “That is a feature I have always wanted to have on the heads I use, but bring it back on a modern, scientifically designed head. Wasp Archery has made broadheads for over 50 years, and I cannot think of a better partner to work with on bringing this head to life.”
“The Sharp Shooter line has performed well for both compound and traditional shooters for years. Adding Fred’s CBW edge combined with our Sharp Shooter dual angle tip will only make them better,” said Zach Weaver, Wasp Archery. “Having the rear of the blades sharpened is not a new technology but combining it with a replaceable cut-on-contact blade that is built to Wasp Archery standards is definitely raising the bar.”
Available online and in stores nationwide in 2025 the Sharp Shooter CBW heads will come in q 100- or 150-grain 3-pack with an MSRP of $59.
