ATA’s Dan Forster Appointed to Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council

New Ulm, Minnesota – ATA’s Vice President and Chief Conservation Officer Dan Forster will represent the interests of archery enthusiasts and organizations as a primary member of the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council, chartered by the U.S. Department of the Interior and U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack appointed Forster to the Council on Sept. 22. During his 3-year term, Forster will support the Council’s mission to advise the Federal Government about methods to improve wildlife and habitat conservation endeavors that benefit wildlife resources; encourage partnership among the public, sporting conservation organizations, Federal, State, Tribal, and territorial governments; and benefit fair chase recreational hunting and safe recreational shooting sports.

Forster will work alongside 17 other Council members from state fish and wildlife management agencies, tribal resource management organizations, and nonprofit and private industry organizations. Together, they commit their time, expertise and recommendations on recreational hunting and wildlife conservation issues, policies and programs.

“I’m deeply honored to serve on the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Council alongside such a proven group of national conservation leaders,” Forster said. “I very much appreciate the intent and formation of this important advisory committee by Secretary Haaland and Secretary Vilsack, and look forward to engaging and capitalizing on this unique opportunity for the benefit of hunters and wildlife conservation across the country.”
