CLAY CITY, Ky– Team GAS Bowstrings had an incredible weekend as four of the Vegas Champions crowned were GAS Shooters, 14 of the 28 men’s compound championship 900s were GAS Shooters, the Lucky Dog and both 10K a Day winners were GAS Bowstrings shooters! In total Team GAS Bowstrings garnered nine podium finishes!
In the men’s recurve championship division, Brady Ellison took his tenth Vegas title! Shooting the new Recurve + strings, he took the title by one point outright after his three rounds. In addition, Brady cleaned each end in the gold medal match of the Indoor World Series Championship to take the win!
Recurve + made an impact in the men’s barebow championship division, as two of the archers who podiumed were shooting the new strings. Zackary Bisinger took second place outright with an 827. Brian Way was tied for third and went into a shoot-off match, where he took bronze scoring a 28 against his opponent’s 24.
The young adult championship class made the big stage at The Vegas Shoot, where three archers shot off to determine podium positions. These three archers went arrow for arrow and GAS Shooter Zachary Neilson took bronze to finish out his weekend at Vegas.
Keith Trail took his fifth Vegas title as he won the men’s compound senior championship division outright! Bill Drake went into a shoot-off for second place where he succeeded in taking silver, shooting a 60 against his opponent’s 58.
Tanja Gellethien was one of only two archers to shoot a 900 in the women’s compound championship division! She confidently went into her shoot-off match going arrow for arrow until her opponent shot a nine, giving Tanja the perfect window to secure her back-to-back win! In addition, this is Tanja’s third career Vegas Championship title!
The women’s compound championship division also had a shoot-off for third place as five ladies hit an 899. These archers went head-to-head and in their last shoot-off match, Dafne Quintero was the only archer left standing to take her third-place finish!
The men’s compound championship shoot-off saw 28 shooters, 14 of those being GAS Shooters! In addition, Nick Kappers joined the pack as the 2024 Vegas Lucky Dog! As the group narrowed to the final two archers left standing, Mathias Fullerton and his opponent ended up shooting 14 perfect ends of three Xs in total until his opponent dropped a point. Mathias took that opportunity to shoot one last perfect end to secure the title!
In addition, both 10K a Day winners were GAS Bowstrings shooters! Zach Plonsky took the Day 1 10K a Day shoot-off and Ojas Deotale took the 10K on Day 2!
