Odin’s Innovations Pear Liquid Scent – By Patrick Meitin – It’s no secret that the game we covet and passionately pursue live by their noses. The great efforts bowhunters invest in to conceal negative human odors is testament enough. But in hunting there are also positive scents that do just the opposite of repelling game, helping bring them closer or into the open for higher-odds shot opportunities.
This is what Odin’s Innovations is all about—creating scents to improve our bowhunting efforts. Odin’s made its initial mark with its unique and highly effective Scent Beads. This approach uses special 100 percent biodegradable polymer beads infused with synthetic scents, including popular whitetail glandular attractants and natural or sweet-smelling food scents. The Beads are impervious to moisture and emit scent for up to 30 days, saving money and time compared to traditional scent-delivery systems.

More recently Odin’s introduced Liquid Scents, oil-based product infused with concentrated doses of the company’s powerful synthetic scents. The all-natural oil base resists moisture and releases alluring scent for seven days. Liquid Scent allows placing scent where Scent Beads cannot be used, such as whitetail scrape licking branches, or higher off the ground for farther-reaching effect. The newest releases include sweet-smelling scents such as Vanilla, Berry, and especially brand-new Pear scent. Odin’s has the manufacturing capabilities to create and introduce new scents to the marketplace quickly—all based on customer input and needs.
I’ve found newer Liquid Scents especially effective while bowhunting black bears and hogs. For instance, while baiting North Idaho bears, I not only squirt Liquid Scent high on surrounding tree trunks and onto absorbent stumps to send out attractive scent to jump-start baits, but on bait-barrel rims and places bears linger. Getting this powerful, oily lure on a bear’s paws means they lay down scent far from the site, creating a web of trails other bears track into the site, creating more traffic and competition that results in bigger bears.
Regarding wild hogs, during a recent Texas spring foray I witnessed the dramatic results of deploying Odin’s brand-new Pear Liquid Scent. Standard Texas operating procedure involves “corning” roads or openings to pull hogs out of nasty-thick cover where they can be ambushed or stalked. We usually chum roads and then kill a couple hours while waiting for hungry hogs to discover our corn.
This year we spiked buckets of corn with Pear Liquid Scent and were amazed to see hogs emerging from heavy cover after just a half hour. Because of the powerful attraction of super-sweet Pear Liquid Scent, I hadn’t been on the ranch even an hour and was already conducting my first careful stalk—and managed to put an arrow through a good-sized boar to start the hunt off in style!

Not only are Odin’s synthetic scent products long lasting and hugely effective, but the company makes it easy for dealers to sell their product, from high margins to thorough educational materials to innovative display options. Get in on the action by visiting odnisinnovations.com.
